the other side of the mirror
For years we begging for the publishers provide their metadata to supply the website librairiedialogues.fr .
In truth, in vain, mostly.
with the notable exception of Editis of PUF and equipped by the publishers giantchair.com , which must be added Thierry Magnier and very imperfectly school recreation, no place editor cares to take seriously our demands.
When book publishers in 1981, wanted to preserve a network of booksellers and other retailers, rich, dense and varied, the major record companies were betting that otherwise would be more profitable to remove the network of stores. Disastrous decision. For the record stores. For the majors.
Today, having, for many, still not taken the upheaval that will cause the digital revolution in publishing and bookselling, publishers are being inadvertently or inertia, to sacrifice their network of resellers on the Internet booksellers. Alas.
At the time, very modest and marginal, we turn to the other side of the mirror, showing us our publishers we act according to our words. A
available to all websites of booksellers, inclusive, and including the big bad wolf of the Atlantic, available to all bloggers, available to all librarians, available to all lovers of books, available, all all existing metadata on the website of the newly created home-edition dialogues.fr .
Clear explanations are available on the site, describing the various formats and recovery protocols . We have focused on the use of standards (ONIX mainly), so that the exploitation of such data does not require any specific development.
Bloavez mad.

Driving From Singapore To Bali
Bis repetita place? Digital Dialogues
It certainly is not usual among well-educated people to quote oneself.
However, I would refer my readers, if any, to my post on March 23, 2009 entitled "the goose that lays golden eggs." He explains why
the crisis of the disc such that, as record store, I saw them arise and grow. Why
business of selling records is it passed into the hands of Apple?
Mostly not, as attempted by the Marquis believe small disk, because of piracy but for three reasons:
1. The majors have deliberately sacrificed the network of stores, their eyes too costly and outdated.
2. These same companies have, for cowardice, failed to offer on the internet an acceptable offer by disc lovers
3. They finally built a pricing contemptuous, absurd, unacceptable by customers.
Sometimes I wonder, not that I shave in the morning, whether in the business of publishing we do not live like a phase to phase 1 of the crisis disk. Inadvertently, by inertia, lack of attention to the ongoing revolution publishers over the past decade ban, in practice, access to the Internet to their network of booksellers.
There is no doubt that publishers, booksellers towards, well-intentioned companies that had the disc at the location of stores.
Notwithstanding the intentions, good or bad, the positions taken in the sale of books "paper" on the internet are the positions for the sale of digital books. Independent booksellers are dramatically absent. The duopoly amazon / FNAC is now rounding up the implementation so that future entrants are called google, apple ...

Vintage-erotica Squat
Bienvault Herve alias Aldus Man asks us tonight the number of digital titles from the official catalog of the library. Caught on camera so. Well, as stated, Eric Falconnier of Dialogues - notably responsible for the development of open architecture platform alongside Frederick Falempin Caroline Kernen etc.. The catalog offers 10,501 different titles. And the integration continues.

referencing data and formats
While digital distribution platforms continue to develop, publishers, through the structures of mailing / distribution start (they) in ability to automate the referencing of their new products (whatever the format, paper or digital) in the databases through the availability (import) via FTP service on own server or export customer (booksellers, inter BDD) structured data, at best ONIX ... (?)
Behind a simple EAN 13, an entire ecosystem of information essential to the life of the book, which is to be seen on the sites of booksellers for the benefit of readers. It is further necessary to obtain systematically the minimum (the plug of the book), and its additions, appoint and therefore draw (back, know that they exist) videos, excerpts from books with or without laminated glazing, podcasts - potentially available by broadcasters.
further necessary to obtain very broad access to these data normalized without feeling to request the keys of the safe!
the game worth the candle yet.
