The three traditional practices of Lent are gestures starting with the letter p: prayer, penance and share age. No Lent without these three! Ask the Lord to teach us.

You know S e igneur, I do not pray. When I speak, I turn around, I'm distracted, and-dare I say? - I'm bored! But at the same time, I know that I am critical of you meet. Then, put in my heart, not the taste, but the need to pray. Thus, against all odds, I can sit at your table presence, offering you what I am and what I am not yet. Amen.
Penance
Teach me, Lord, penitence you like. One that prints my actions is a movement back toward you and openness to others. Teach me to do penance with the quiet joy of a river that is free of ice. So many patterns, so many false needs imprison me. Give me strength and courage to me release. During Lent, drive my heart to the point. Amen.
Sharing
Lord, make my Lent is more than a series of acts of charity. It is for me a school where I learn to share to keep the hand and heart open to year-round. You who are going through the gift accompanies my hesitant steps on this path. Amen.
